The team at Morada Produce focuses on a three pronged approach to sustainability; environmental, economic, and social. Utilizing a science based agricultural framework, we strive to decrease our impact on the environment while producing the highest quality produce and investing in our local community.
- Our extensive focus on waste water reduction which includes re-using 100% of our cherry processing water to irrigate a neighboring walnut orchard. This neighboring orchard, farmed by a company managed by the Foppiano Family, utilizes neutron probe ground moisture indicators and modern micro-emitter sprinkler systems for a water reducing custom irrigation application.
- The 400kw solar array covering our packing sheds 150 space parking lot that currently generates 40% of our power consumption.
- Our investment in the local community by supporting agricultural education initiatives. It is our goal to spread the roots of sustainable farming to future generations of farmers and consumers of nutritious produce.
- Because our employees are an important part of our sustainability initiatives, we continuously exceed expectations on third party ethical and social responsibility audits.
Sustainability has been built into the culture of Morada Produce. Our investment in intentional practices has allowed us to both blaze the trail and continuously adapt in the growing movement of sustainability, considering it a journey to travel rather than a destination to reach.
It is our goal to differentiate ourselves from the rest of the industry and create a sustainably beneficial relationship with our customers, employees, and Mother Nature.
